Market Structure with Inducements and Sweeps, on MT4 and MT5, labels the four things this style of trading actually runs on: break of structure, change of character, the inducement inside each leg, and the sweeps that took liquidity without breaking anything.

The feature that changes how you use it is the fifth one, and it isn't a label. It's two lines drawn to the right of the live candle.

BOS, CHoCH, IDM and the sweep crosses on a market structure sequence

The two levels that haven't happened yet

Show Predict is on by default and it's easy to miss.

Beyond the current bar the tool extends two lines with their own labels: a solid one marked BOS at the price that would continue the current structure, and a dashed one marked CHoCH at the price that would break it.

Both prices exist at all times, both are already determined by the structure behind you, and almost no structure indicator shows you either until it's too late to matter. Having them on the right of the chart turns the tool from a commentary into something you can set alerts against and place orders around.

They update every bar as the structure develops, which is the point. When a new swing forms, the level moves.

The four labels

BOS, a solid line at the level that was taken in the direction of the trend. Structure continued.

CHoCH, a dotted line at the level whose break flipped the direction. Structure changed.

IDM, the inducement. This uses a much shorter pivot, three bars against the fifty used for structure, and marks the small obvious swing sitting inside the leg. That's the low every trader on the chart can see and put a stop under, which is exactly why price usually takes it before doing anything else. The tool marks it in grey and can alert you when price touches it or when it's invalidated.

x, a sweep. Price went beyond the structural level intrabar but the bar closed back inside. Liquidity taken, structure intact. It needs the level to be at least one bar old, so the bar that created a level can't sweep it.

Ordinary structure indicator This
BOS / CHoCH Labelled after the break Labelled, and projected forward as live levels
Inducement Not marked Marked with its own short pivot
Sweeps Counted as a break Marked separately with x, structure unchanged
Alerts On breaks Six separate switches including inducement touched and invalidated

Two pivot lengths, doing two jobs

CHoCH Detection Period is 50. IDM Detection Period is 3.

That gap is deliberate and it's what makes the inducement useful. Structure is measured on a slow pivot so it describes real swings; inducements are measured on a fast one so they catch the little pullback high that only exists for a handful of bars. Using one length for both would either miss the inducements or turn every wobble into structure.

If you're going to change one, change the structure length. Fifty bars on H1 is a couple of days; on M5 it's a session.

Alerts

Six switches, and the defaults tell you what the tool thinks matters:

  • Inducement invalidated is on. That's the event that says the setup you were waiting on has gone.
  • Everything else, including both BOS and both CHoCH alerts, is off.

Notification type itself ships as Do not notificate, so nothing fires until you set it. Once you do, the history pass stays silent and you only hear about live events.

Turning on all six on several charts will bury you. Start with inducement invalidated and bearish CHoCH, and add from there.

What it draws, and what it doesn't

Lines and text labels, plus swing point circles if you want them. There are no indicator buffers, so iCustom gets nothing โ€” including, unfortunately, the projected BOS and CHoCH levels, which are the things you'd most want in an EA. Alerts are the only route out.

No zones, no order blocks, no risk-reward boxes, no higher-timeframe read.

Where it's weak

Structure confirms late. A fifty-bar pivot needs bars on both sides, so the swing that defines a level is confirmed well after it happened. The projected levels are correct and they arrive with a delay after each new swing.

Only one projected level per side. The forward BOS and CHoCH lines are single objects, redrawn each bar. There's no history of where they used to be, and no second-nearest level.

Inducements at three bars are noisy on fast charts. On M5 almost every pullback has one. The setting is there; the default is tuned for H1 and above.

Sweeps are marked, not scored. A one-pip poke and a fifty-pip stop run both get an x. There's no size filter.

Everything lives on the chart timeframe. A CHoCH on M15 sitting inside an untouched daily range is drawn exactly like one in open air.

Questions you'll have

Does this repaint? Structure is evaluated on closed bars behind a new-bar check, and drawn BOS, CHoCH, IDM and sweep marks stay where they were put. The two projected lines move every bar by design, because they track the level that would break next.

What is the dashed line to the right of price? The projected CHoCH: the price whose break would flip the current structure. The solid one is the projected BOS, which would continue it.

What does the small x mean? A liquidity sweep. Price went past a structural level intrabar and closed back inside, so the level held.

What is IDM? Inducement. The obvious minor swing inside the current leg, found with a three-bar pivot. It's where the stops are, and price usually takes it before the real move.

Why do I get so few alerts? Five of the six alert switches are off by default, and Notification type ships as Do not notificate. Turn on what you want.

Can an EA read the projected levels? No. The indicator publishes no buffers; everything is a chart object. This is the main thing I'd change about it.

Best timeframe? H1 and H4 at the default 50-bar structure period. On M15 and below lower it, or structure lags a long way behind price.

MT4? Both platforms are included, one download each. Same two pivot lengths, same projected levels, same six alerts.
